Tools I Actually Use (and Don’t Hate)

This isn’t one of those lists filled with affiliate links to stuff I’ve never touched. Everything here is something I’ve actually used, adapted, or rage-quit and come back to later.

If it’s on this page, it either made my life easier or didn’t make it worse — which, honestly, is a win.

🧠 For Focus & Time Blindness

Brain.fm – Weird science music that actually helps me start things. I use this when I feel like a bag of bees.

Google Calendar (But With Events Like ‘Sit Down’) – Not fancy. Just honest. I schedule things like “Eat Lunch” because otherwise… I won’t.

📝 For Routines & Planning (The ADHD Way)

Sticky Notes – Yep. Old-school. One task per note. Move them around. Crumple them with satisfaction.

Notion (But Only Lightly) – I use it as a weekly dashboard with three buttons max. Anything more and I get overwhelmed.

Sunsama – A very gentle planner that feels like it’s encouraging you instead of judging you. Great if you want to structure your day without hating it.

📱 For Task Management (When My Brain Feels Cooperative)

TickTick – My favorite task manager so far. Lightweight, clean, and actually fun to check off.

Structured – Combines a calendar with a to-do list. Surprisingly good for ADHD brains that need timelines with flexibility.

🧸 Sensory & Emotional Support

Loop Earplugs – Helps me function in loud cafés without wanting to walk into traffic.

Weighted Lap Blanket – Not just for kids. Helps when I’m spiraling or overstimmed.

YouTube: “Lo-fi beats to cry/focus to” – Self-explanatory.

🧰 My Own Tools (Coming Soon)

  • The Focus Menu (from my Starter Kit)
  • ADHD-friendly weekly review template
  • Low-friction “get started” checklist
  • Maybe even a Notion-lite workspace… if I don’t abandon it first
